Edward C. (Ted) Lawhead

Ted Lawhead of Prescott, Ariz., passed away June 21, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz., where he has received excellent care throughout his extended illness over the past few years. He was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Prescott, Ariz., was raised in Prescott and spent all of his life in Arizona.

Ted served in World War II in the Army in Europe, where he received the Bronze Star.

He retired from General Motors as a Service Manager. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou Lane of McGuireville, Ariz.; five children, Ilene Roby of Grand Junction, Colo., Ed Lawhead of Wilhoit, Ariz., Mike Lawhead of Beaumont, Calif., Frank Lawhead of Prescott, Ariz., George Lawhead of Prescott, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was an avid hunter who will be greatly missed by his family and close-knit group of long-standing hunting companions.

A gathering of friends and family and celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Chapel, 500 N. Highway 89.

Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 Honor Guard.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home.
