Dr. David D. Carr of Wickenburg, died November 20 at Wickenburg Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born August 19, 1898, in Blountville, Tennessee, Dr. Carr was a graduate of Vanderbilt University College of Medicine and received his doctorate in Public Health from Harvard School of Medicine.

He served in the field of Public Health Service for more than 43 years. He was the Perry County Health Officer for 4 years, spent 7 years as Topeka, Kansas Health Officer, was the Assistant State Health Officer for the State of Utah for 5 years and spent 13 years as the Clark County Health Officer in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Carrs moved to Wickenburg from Las Vegas in 1963.
Dr. Carr was a life time member of the American Medical Association, a Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Balton Carr of Wickenburg; a brother, Hal H. Carr of Tennessee, one nephew and one niece.

Services will be held at the Wickenburg Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Wickenburg Cemetery.
