LAST RITES HELD HERE MONDAY FOR NICHOLAS KERKES

Funeral services were held at the Wickenburg Chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Nicholas Kerkes, age 25, life-long resident of Wickenburg and vicinity, who passed away last Saturday morning in a sanitarium in Glendale, following an illness of 12 years.

The funeral services were conducted by Father L. J. Sullivan of St. Anthony's Catholic Church here, and burial was in the family plot in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

Nicholas was born in this section of Arizona and lived here until he entered the sanitarium to undergo treatment for arthritis. He was a freshman in the Wickenburg High School when stricken.

An older brother, Sgt. Thomas Kerkes was killed in action on Leyte on December 13th of last year while a third brother, Pfc. Mitchell Kerkes, is in a hospital in England, following an illness contracted while serving with the armed forces in Germany.

Parents of the three boys are dead. Three sisters survive Mrs. Pierre Pouquette of Wickenburg and Sarah and Annie Kerkes of 510 East Taylor, Phoenix.
