Diane Marie Butcher, 59
Dec. 20, 1948 – July 9, 2008

Diane Butcher passed away on July 9, 2008 at her home in Chino Valley, Ariz., after a short battle with cancer. She died peacefully with her family by her side and went to join loved ones lost in years past.

Diane was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1948 to her parents, Herman and Betty. In 1966, at the age of 18, she moved to California and went to work on a Marine Corps base in Barstow. It was there that she met her soul mate. John and Diane were married in 1967 and one year later celebrated the birth of their first child, a daughter named Sherry.

After John was discharged from the Marines, they moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and in 1971 their son John was born. They lived in both Anchorage and Anchor Point for 36 years until relocating to Arizona.

Diane will always be remembered for her outgoing personality and generous nature. She was a wonderful mother and loving wife. Diane made many friends along the way and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years, John; her two children, Sherry Eddings of Georgia and John Butcher of Alaska; her three grandchildren, Courtney, Jacob and Garrett; and her mother Betty; along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Koller and brother, Peter Koller. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Chino Valley Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
