Strong. Courageous. Our dearly loved friend and aunt, Carlene Watts, left us July 7, 2008, as a result of cancer. Born Jan. 9, 1933, Carlene and deceased life-partner Bobbi Butler moved from Glendale, Calif., to retire in Prescott some 15 years ago, making it their home. Retired, but never one to sit still, Carlene quickly became a beloved community volunteer, sharing her many talents with several organizations including the U.S. Forest Service, the Prescott Valley Quality of Life Center and, most recently, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, a cause dear to her heart – one that she loved being a part of and where she placed third among the top fundraisers, even as she endured rounds of chemo. Always one to put others’ in need first, Carlene’s generous heart and beautiful smile will be sorely missed. She is survived by dear friends Ann, Patty, Maureen and Ric, Kathy Christmas, Amy van Winkle, niece Laura, nephew Ron, cousins Richard and Nancy, and, of course, dear dogs Skipper and Duffy and the many others whose lives she touched. A private celebration of her life will take place on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arizona Humane Society or The American Cancer Society, 2724 E. Lakin Drive, Suite 9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004, in memory of Carlene Watts, are appreciated. Funds will be credited to the Quad Cities Relay for Life. Information provided by survivors. |

They do not write the obituaries and have no further information other than what is posted within the obituaries. We do not do personal research.
