Clara C. (Couch) Kenyon

Clara C. Kenyon, died May 26, 2008, at her residence in Dewey. She was born October 28, 1933 in Elkin, North Carolina; the daughter of Manley B. and Vetrol D. (Darnell) Couch. Clara was 74 years old.

Clara worked as a waitress for many years with MacCayo’s Mexican Kitchen or Woody’s in Phoenix, where ever she was needed. She and Don moved to the tri-cities area when they retired. She was an very active member of the Ladies Auxilary Post 78 American Legion and a founding member of the Desert Hills Fellowship at Poland Junction. She helped to found the Country Western Association and was always a supportive wife to Don with all his actitivies in his many faternal organizations. Clara was the go to person when any organization needed a good fund raiser. She enjoyed playing bingo and riding on the Harley with Don.

Clara is survived by her husband, Don; they were married February 1, 1980; her mother Vetrol Tucker; son Danny (Cindy) Brown of Dewey; daughters; Brenda Young of Tucson, Chrissy (Mark) Sutton of Chino Valley, sisters, Linda (Penny) Whitaker, Gail (Perry) Buchette all of North Carolina, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
