Harry Everett Hughes

Harry Everett Hughes, 58, of Tucson passed away Dec. 21, 2006. He was born May 7, 1948, the son of Robert P. and Mary Margaret (Marschall) Hughes of Miami.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Guynes); son, Scott; daughter Sheri (Jeff) Beckstrom; his father, Robert P. Hughes; sister, Roberta Caley; brother, William; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Nancy Lueck.

Harry excelled in football at Miami High School and made All-State his senior year at Miami High School from where he graduated in 1966.

After graduation from Arizona State University with an engineering degree, he served three years as an officer in the Army. His professional career was spent in supervisory positions in mining, first in copper with American Mining & Smelting Co. and then in coal with the Drummond Coal Co. in Columbia, SA. After retirement, he acquired ownership of Howard's Hydraulic, a repair facility for hydaulic equipment.

Memorial services were held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary in Tucson Dec. 27. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Casa de la Luz Hospice who were so helpful with Harry's care.
