Zilinski, Frederick J.

Frederick J. Zilinski, 81, of Phoenix, died Dec. 3, 2003. Born Sept. 4, 1922 in New Jersey, he was one of fifteen children. He married Ann Marie Hughes in 1947, and they moved to Arizona in 1949. They were married for 50 years when Ann passed away in 1997. Serving in W.W. 2 as a U.S. Marine from Jan. 8, 1942 to Oct. 24, 1945. He was awarded two purple hearts and two bronze stars. He worked for Arvin Air as a supervisor for 41 years until he retired in 1989. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Markins and Brenda Denison; two sons in law, Gordon and Ladd; four grandsons, all who inherited his sense of humor, Raymond and Garner Markins, and Brett and Bevan Horting. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8620 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Church. Burial with military honors will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
