Joseph Leroy Dillow

Loving Brother and Uncle passed away March 9, 2005, born Jan. 29, 1939, in Jonesboro, Ill., to Harley and Thelma (Turner) Dillow.

Most of Joe's life, he worked as a sandblaster in California.

Joe was a father figure to his numerous nieces and nephews, teaching them to tie shoes, tell time, drive, and never allowing the word 'can't,' and upon each visit, Uncle Joe would give each child a silver dollar.

He enjoyed listening to Rush Limbaugh, playing bingo and chess, and putting puzzles together.

Joe is survived by three daughters, Karen and Rosie of Illinois and Cindy of Arizona; four sisters, Patricia 'PK' Grissom of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and her six children, Theresa, Sherry, Wanda, Trisha, Colleen, Punkin, and Samuel; Harlene 'Sue' Nussberger of Camp Verde , Ariz. and husband Richard and their two daughters, Dee Dee and Rachel; Ruthie Royal of Hickory, N.C., and son, Adam; and Tammy Dillow Taylor of Taylorsville, N.C.; one brother, Harry 'Tony' Dillow of Hickory, N.C., and his seven children, Tina, Cathy, Dawn, Timmy, twins Matt and Sabrina, and Nick; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom and step-dad, Thelma and Dave Roberts, and three children.
He will be greatly missed by all.
