Dr. Ben Goodkin, born July 19, 1907, and died March 11, 2005. Beloved father of Joy Landau and fiance, Ted Denton of Prescott and Adria (Lewis) Kaplan of New York, N.Y. Beloved grandfather of Rachel Garr of Prescott, Deborah (Noah) Newitz of New York, and Brian (Lambeth) Kaplan of New York City. Beloved great-grandfather of Dylan, Ryan and Zachary.

Preceded in death by the love of his life, Tillie Goodkin, who died in 1980.

Dr. Goodkin lived in Passaic, N.J., and following graduation from the University of Maryland Dental College, practiced dentistry in Lincoln Park, N.J., for over 30 years, where he was affectionately known as Dr. Ben. He and his family lived first in Lincoln Park and then in Paterson, N.J.

In 1969, Dr. Ben retired and moved with Tillie to Hallandale, Fla. Following her death, he married Reba and had a second happy marriage for 17 years. In October of 2003, Dr. Ben moved to Prescott to be closer to his daughter, Joy, and his granddaughter, Rachel.

Dr. Ben was loved by all who knew him for his generosity of spirit, his love of family, his affectionate ways, his inner strength, his playful songs and his dancing. He will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing such a wonderful man for the 97 years he was on this Earth.

Special thanks to the loving staff at Prescott Valley Samaritan Center who took excellent care of Dr. Ben in his final days. Blessings to all who touched his life with kindness and affection.
