Ralph Wright Bennett

Ralph Wright Bennett, age 86, of Prescott, Ariz., died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at his home in Prescott. Ralph was born April 7, 1918, in Webb City, Mo., to Victor O. and Pearl (Wright) Bennett.

Ralph received his doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army as a Captain during World War II. Ralph had a private veterinary practice in Rolla, Mo., for 20 years. He also worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in both Washington, D.C., and Conyers, Ga., for 20 years. Ralph was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Frances Bennett of Prescott; daughters, Anne Shelton of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jane Chesen of Prescott; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today, March 16, at 2 p.m., at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 South Cortez Street, in Prescott, Arizona.

Burial was at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Tuesday, March 15.

Memorial donations can be directed to the Yavapai Food Bank.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
