David Lawrence Leckliter

David Lawrence Leckliter died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Veteran's hospital in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Hereford, Texas, to James A. and Ruth (Dodge-Alexander) Leckliter.

Mr. Leckliter was a Navy veteran who served his country in Korea as well as bases on both the East and West Coasts, much of the time as a Corpsman attached to the USMC.

Dave was also an avid bowler. For several years he served on the Greater Prescott Bowling Association and was able to travel to the National Bowling Tournaments in various states. In 1991, he retired from the Arizona State Highway Department due to ill health.

He was a member of the Prescott Free Methodist Church, where he served his church in many ways.

Mr. Leckliter is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol (Butler) Leckliter; one daughter, Diana Mosloski of Eagan, Minn.; two sons, David A. (Debbie) Leckliter of Payson and John C. (Kristina) Leckliter of Glendale; seven grandchildren, Melissa Engel of Minn., Devon and Alexis Leckliter of Payson, Brianna, Kylie, and Caleb Leckliter of Glendale, and Nick Wilcox of Phoenix; three great-grandchildren, Zayne and Marah of Minn., and Kyra Ann of Payson. Also surviving are brother, Martin Alexander of Florida, Donald Alexander of Glendale, Gary Leckliter of Prescott, and Clifford Leckliter of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darla and his parents and brothers, Wayne Alexander, James, Wallace, and Robert Leckliter.

Private cremation has been held. The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Free Methodist Church, 2797 Willow Creek Road, in Prescott, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations in memory of David L. Leckliter to Parkinson's Research, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, P.O. Box 2071, Phoenix, Ariz. 85001-9977.
