Hammon H. Griffith, 99, of Dewey, Ariz. born Nov. 19, 1905, in Colorado City, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Dewey.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Sunrise Funeral Home.

Hammon H. Griffith, age 99, died Feb. 11, 2005 in Dewey, Ariz. He was born Nov. 19, 1905, in Colorado City, Texas, to Joseph Franklin and Minnie (Barnes) Griffith.

Hammon loved to hunt and fish; he also enjoyed music and gardening. He was very creative and made several guitars and two fiddles.

Hammon was preceded in death by his wife, Velma, who died in 1997. He is survived by daughters, Bertie Brown of Dewey, Ariz., and Margaret Phillips of Basehor, Kan.; brother, Howard of Gisela, Ariz.; sisters, Aline Henson of New Mexico and Mallie Dean Barrenchea of Nevada; 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A commemoration service to honor Hammon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Sunrise Funeral Home's Chapel in Prescott Valley with Pastor Howard Griffith officiating.

Private interment will be at East Resthaven Cemetery in Tempe, Ariz.
