Lois Sowers

Lois Sowers, age 86, passed away Feb. 8, 2005, after a short illness. Lois was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Payne County, Okla.

After graduating from what is now Oklahoma State University in 1941, Lois moved to Washington, D.C., where she met her husband of 64 years, Alick Sowers. After following him around the world with the U.S. Army, Lois and Alick retired, first to Santa Fe, N.M., then moved to Kingman, and finally to Prescott.

Lois established an accounting business, Sowers Accounting, which she ran with her son, John, until her passing. Lois loved her plants and was prone to taking in abandoned animals.

Lois is survived by her husband, Alick Sowers; two sons, John of Prescott and Charles of Los Angeles; and one daughter, Nancy Hicks of Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Lois will be interred at the Veterans Memorial Park.
