Conrad Dallas Johnson, age 82, died Thursday evening, Feb. 24, 2005, at his home in Prescott. He was born Nov. 18, 1922, in Denmark, Wis., the son of Peter and Alta (Rasmussen) Johnson.

Conrad was one of 12 children raised by his parents. He had an insatiable love of learning. In his later years, Conrad always had something new he had learned and wanted to share it with others. Conrad lived to explore; he knew Prescott like the back of his hand.

Conrad met and later married the love of his life, Jean Harms, on Jan. 12, 1946, and shared many years together before Jean?s death. He and Jean moved their family to Prescott in 1957. Conrad went to work building the Glen Canyon Dam.

Conrad was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #428 and was a charter member of the Elks. He loved being with his family and friends throughout the USA and enjoyed caring for the flowers and trees he grew.
Conrad is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Pat Moore of Alpine, Calif., and brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd Johnson of Prescott, Warren and Mary Ann Johnson of Denmark, Wis., and Daniel and Skinny Johnson of Gleason, Wis. Conrad is also survived by his grandchildren, Ty, Tim, Tamara, Brian, Brad, and Steven and by 10 great-grandchildren. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Dale.

Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. The family is planning a memorial service at the family home in Prescott.
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
