Harold E. Carney died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his home in Prescott, Ariz. Born on June 6, 1923, in Saginaw, Mich., he was the son of Alfred and Dorothy (Thompson) Carney. He was 85 years old.

Harold was a pilot in the military, serving over 30 years for his country. He loved flying and playing golf. Harold is survived by his children, Tim (Wendy) Carney and Rob (Terry) Strong; grandchildren, Brigid, Bryan, Ryan, Chelsea and Angela; eight great-grandchildren; brother Pat (Sue) Carney; and his loving friend, Geneva Bush. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mildred; brothers, Chuck and Don Carney; and his parents.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.

Services at his residence, The Peridot, are pending.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice Restricted Fund, 1003 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.
