Dorothy Tyson, 88, formerly of Orange, Calif., passed on July 2, 2008 at her home in Prescott, Ariz.

Dorothy was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Quinton, Okla., to Melvin and Eva Aston.

She was a member of the Happy Hoofers of Newport Beach. She loved to play the piano and the organ, and to go dancing at every opportunity.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Tyson; her husband John Tyson; her sister Annie Jane Grafa; and her parents Eva and Melvin Aston.

She is survived by her brothers, Melvin and Jim Aston, and sister Mary Kennerly.

Her family wrote: “Dorothy bore the sadness in her life with perpetual optimism.”

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date by her family and friends.

Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
