James Makinson, 68, of Kingman AZ, died at Mesa General Hospital, in Mesa AZ, on February 21, 2008. He was born on February 16, 1940, in Grass Valley, CA, the son of Glennis and Essie (Newton) Makinson.

James loved to travel on his motorcycle and watch TV. He was most proud of his five beautiful children.

James is survived by his sons James Makinson, Jr and John Makinson, both of Wittman Az.; daughters Shantel Alanis, of Golden Valley Az., Denise Weems, of Kingman Az., and Dorothy Darlene Makinson of Wittmann Az.; grandchildren Destiny, Gregory, Stevie and Sarah; great grandchildren Bryce and Anthony; Brother Ron Makinson of Cordes Lakes Az.; sister Sandra O’Brien of Prescott Az.; and his girlfriend Kim Carrico. He is preceded in death by his parents Glennis and Essie Makinson, brother Leroy Makinson, and sister Laura Makinson.

A celebration of James life will be held at 10 AM, Wed., Feb. 27, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S Cortez St, Prescott Az., followed by a Graveside Committal at Mountain View Cemetery, Willow Creek Rd, Prescott AZ. Family and friends are invited to the home of Sandra O’Brien, 3020 Garden Lane in Prescott following the services.
