The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 28, 1978, p. 2 LENORA M. STIFEL Lenora M. Stifel was buried Tuesday this week in Wickenburg Cemetery with joint services conducted by the local chapter of the Eastern Star and the Rev. W. W. Hutchison of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Stifel died Thursday last week following surgery at Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City. She was born in Illinois 74 years ago and was a homemaker. She and husband, Reuben, moved here from Sterling, Colo., in 1947. They were former owners and operators of the Westerner Motel. Mr. Stifel resigned as town manager in 1966 having served in that capacity ten years. He predeceased his wife in 1970. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara L. Hill of Apache Junction and Virginia Taylor of Riverside, Calif., and a brother, Charles G. Stone of Bakersfield, Calif. Mrs. Stifel was a past matron of the Eastern Star. She sang in the choir of the First Presbyterian Church 30 years. She was a volunteer worker at the Desert Caballeros Museum and a charter member of the Friends of Music. The Rev. Hutchison also officiated at the First Presbyterian Church prior interment. The Wickenburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
