Michael Humes Alig

Michael H. Alig, born Aug. 19, 1942 and died Feb, 18, 2005, 62, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Venice, Florida, died suddenly in his beloved Prescott, Arizona.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, to Benno Michael and Mary Lucinda (Humes) Alig. He had owned and operated Classic Lighting in Florida and was a member of Hart Lighting in Arizona.

His survivors include his loving wife, Jeanette (Jenny) Alig; four daughters Dreama M. Waldrop of Homosassa, Florida, Kimberly K. Sarkis of Detroit, Michigan, Dea L. Deming of Tampa,. Florida and Dr. Jana M. Alig-Mielcarck of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kristopher R. Cumella who resided with him and was raised as his 'son', Richard M. and Ryan D. Primer, Cody M. Waldrop, Casey N. and Ethan W. Deming and Hanna G. Mielcarek. He is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Benno L. Alig, Arkansas, R. Alan Alig, New Jersey, Cora G. Antonacci, Donald D. Alig, James W. Alig all of Illinois, Donna M. Herberger of New York and Patrick D. Alig of Virginia. He is survived by his mother-in-law Jean Apple of Phoenix, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26th, at Grace United Methodist Church, Venice, Florida.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Scholarship Fund, Grace Preschool Scholarship Fund, both at 400 E. Field Avenue, Venice, Florida, 34285, or the Salvation Army.

Eventual burial of remains will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville, Indiana.
