Bruce A. Rawson

SILT, Colo. - Bruce A. Rawson, 74, of Silt and formerly of Casa Grande, died Dec. 18, 2006 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

Mr. Rawson was born Dec. 9, 1932 in Ripley, Ill., one of twin sons born to Merton S. and Lucille C. (Turner) Rawson. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. Following his honorable discharge, he did carpentry work and began a career with the Colorado Department of Highways. Following his retirement, he did security work in the Casa Grande area.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos, Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals. He recently left Casa Grande to be nearer family in Silt.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy of Silt and Susan of Denver; his stepmother, Nita Rawson of Baird, Texas; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.

A family memorial service was held Dec. 19 at Silt Community Center under the direction of Cochran Memorial Chapel.
