Pearl Linton (Alston) Mulkey

Pearl Linton Mulkey, 87, died Dec. 29, 2006 at Brighton Gardens Care Center in Scottsdale, with her family by her side.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Florence. The funeral will follow at 2, with the Rev. Keith Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge.

Mrs. Mulkey was born March 11, 1919 in Dover, Ark., to Henry R. and Mary M. (Manuel) Alston. She lived in Florence for 63 years. She was strong-willed with a happy personality and enjoyed volunteering for nursing homes in Florence. She enjoyed fishing, creating arts and crafts for the county fair and cooking for her family.

Survivors include four sons, Kenneth E. Linton of Casa Grande, Glenn D. Linton of San Angelo, Texas, Lonnie R. and Bob A. Linton of Florence; two daughters, Linda P. Harville of Pinetop-Lakeside and Barbara A. Nichols of Cactus Forest; a sister, Nettie Hudson of Kingman; 28 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 53 years, Amos M. Linton, in 1985, and her second husband of eight years, John Morris Mulkey, in 2004.
