Harold Michael (Mike) Dennis

Harold M. Dennis, age 79, of Prescott, died Dec. 23, 2004, at the VA Medical Center, Prescott, Az. He was born in Sharpsville, Penn., to Leo Dennis and Hazel Shellito Dennis.

Harold was known to family and friends as 'Mike.' He grew up in the small town of Linesville, Penn. He enlisted in the Marine Corps upon graduating and was a proud member of the 'Greatest Generation.' He served in the Pacific Theatre from 1943-1945. He worked primarily in the insurance business. Mike retired to Prescott in 1986.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott where he was active serving in the 'Masters Closet' and 'Soup Kitchen' for the homeless and needy. He was a faithful member and loved the Lord. We take comfort in knowing that he is now in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gerry Dennis; his daughters, Christine Bonney of Bridgewater, N.J., Cynthia Jannot of Eric, Penn., Nancy Lee (Michael) of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Karen Harris (Terry) of Valencia, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his gentle, kind spirit and his endless sense of humor.

Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 148 South Marina in Prescott, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 2004.
