Arnold Martin Kuester Arnold M. Kuester, 91, of Prescott Valley, Az., died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was born in Fairfax, Minnesota to Edmund and Hattie Kuester on May 10, 1915. He was raised in Wisconsin and later attended school in Iowa, completing his undergraduate work in 1938 at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa and recieved his Master's Degree from Drake University. He married Muma Rose Stevenson on May 21, 1949. She preceded him in death in February 1994. Arnold served our country in WWII and was discharged as a decorated Captian in the spring of 1946. He then taught for 13 years in the Iowa school system before serving several schools as their superintendent for 26 years. Arnold retired on July 1, 1977 and moved to Prescott Valley, Az. shortly thereafter. He was active in the VFW Post #10227 in Prescott Valley and also was a lifetime member of the Lion's Club. He recieved many awards for his contributations to these organizations, including the Melvin Jones Award. He was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley. He loved his sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball and college football. During his college days he played both sports at Wartburg college, having served as football captian his senior year. Arnold was a Loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearley missed by his two daughters, Lynnette Ness of Prescott Valley, Az. and Jeanne (Hal) Severance of Garrison, North Dakota, his son, Charles (Inez) Kuester of Royal, Iowa and his grandchildren, Adam Kuester of Ceder Rapids, Iowa, Katy Kuester of Waverly, Iowa, and her fiance, Ben Thompsen of Van Horne, Iowa, Carly. Sierra, and Gabe Lassila of Garrison, North Dakota, and Chris Eiken of Prescott Valley, Az., plus his many friends and colleagues. Visitation will be held at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. in Prescott,Az. from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, April 29. Services will be at 10:30 am. Monday April 30 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 7763 E. Long Look Dr. in Prescott Valley, Az. with Pastor Kirk Anderson officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery in Dewey, Az. Donations may be given in the name of Arnold Kuester to Shares of Faith at Emmenuel Lutheran Church. Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott, Arizona. |
