| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/26/2005 Harry J. Eggert, 82, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in White Mountain Lakes. He was born in Crawford County, Iowa in a Farm House. Harry lived in Iowa until he graduated from high school. Following high school he moved to Wichita, Kansas and attended Airplane Mechanics School. He worked in Wichita then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he continued working on airplanes throughout World War II, following the war he worked as a core engineer drilling in Nebraska and South Dakota. In the early 50s he moved to Arizona and began work as a heavy equipment operator, he also worked for the Park Service and lived at the Grand Canyon during that time. Harry also helped construct the Glen Canyon Dam and the railroad for the Navajo Generating Plant, working for SRP the remainder of his working life. Harry and his wife Jean were married March 23, 1956. In 2000 they moved to the White Mountains to be closer to their family. Harry is survived by his wife, Jean Eggert of White Mountain Lakes; son, Damon Eggert also of White Mountain Lakes; two grandchildren, Briana and Preston; brother-in-law, Richard "Butch" Rholen Ramey of St. Johns; sister-in-law, Janet Ramey of South Carolina; nieces, Angela (Brandon) Lunt of Mesa, Christa (Craig) Tharp of Texaco, NM, Julie (Aaron) Ray of Mesa, Amanda Ramey of Mesa; Reye Lynn (Ernie) Snitily of Columbus, Neb., David Walter of South Carolina, Brian (Brenda) Walter of Pennsylvania, Adrianna (Charles) Shumate of Texas and Jackie (David) Bateman of Texas. Private services will be held. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Our Lady of The Snow. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
