The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, October 23, 2005 Weymuth Robert Kerkow Weymuth R. Kerkow 84, passed away on Friday October 21, 2005. He was born on May 2, 1921 to Reinhold and Minnie (Buss) Kerkow in Jordan, Minnesota. Wey graduated from Jordan High School in 1940 and then went to work at Nolden Funeral Home until he was drafted into the Army in 1942. During World War II Wey served in the European theater, Normandy Beach Head, Battle of the Bulge and St. Lo. He was discharged in September of 1945. He returned to work at Nolden Funeral Home. On February 2, 1946 Wey married Alice Manke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jordan, Minnesota. In 1948 they moved to Minneapolis where he worked in retail grocery and then wholesale fruits and vegetables. In 1950 went to work for Del Monte for 13 years. In 1958 they adopted Debra and in 1961 Jeffrey was adopted. In 1963 Wey took over the family business, a gas station and taveran known as 'Wey's Webb' in Jordan, Minnesota. In 1975 for health reason the family moved to Prescott, Arizona, where he worked for Memory Chapel Mortuary now called Heritage Memory Mortuary, for 28 years. Weymuth is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years Alice of Dewey, Arizona, daughter Debbie (Bruce) Deutsch of Chaska, Minnesota, and Jeff (Bobbie) Kerkow of Prescott, Arizona; three grandchildren Rebecca, Samuel and Krista; two step-grandchildren Elizabeth and Jessica and a ste-great-grandchild Jasmyn and many family and friends. Visitations at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. Prescott, Az. Monday Oct. 24, 2005 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Tuesday Oct. 25, 2005 at 10 am with burial at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona Phoenix, Az., with military honors.
