Jean Marion (Walker) Theiler

Jean Marion Walker Theiler, 84, died Oct. 27, 2005 at Webbs Adult Care Nursing Home in Snowflake.

She was born Jan. 20, 1921 on the family farm in Grant County, Wisconsin, to George William and Cora Marion (Mitchell) Walker. She was raised and went to school in Platteville, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. She taught school for several years in southern Wisconsin before her marriage.

Jean lived in Arizona most of her adult life and has lived in Show Low for the last 30 years. She was an accomplished painter, gardener and cared especially for her African violets.

She is survived by her husband John of 60 years; her daughter Susan (David) Soss; grandchildren John (Marlana) Soss and Sarah Soss; great-grandsons Corban and Jake; and sister Harriet McGill of Colorado.

Family burial services will be held in Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to: RTA Hospice Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929, or the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Regional Office 225 Grove Ave. Suite B, Prescott, AZ 86301-1667 or National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.

Arrangements were handled locally by Black's Mortuary.
