John was married to his wife, Kathy Beard, in 1985 and enjoyed 23 years of marriage with her. One of John’s most outstanding and cherished attributes was his ability to fill a room with laughter.

He will also be remembered fondly for his amazing culinary skills. Those who knew him will never forget his famous Jambalaya and Chicken Big Mamu. Other favorite pastimes included his love for photography, good jazz, traveling around the country with Kathy and more recently, his love for his Lord Jesus and reading his Bible.

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).
