Darriel Austin (Buddy) Ellis

COOLIDGE - Darriel Austin "Buddy" Ellis, 64, of Coolidge died Dec. 31, 2006 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy. The funeral there will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Harvey Williamson and the Rev. Gary Minton officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Ellis was born May 13, 1942 in Loving, N.M., and was a son of Albert A. and Beatrice (Walker) Ellis. The family soon moved to Eloy, where he lived until marrying and moving to Mcalester, Okla. He was a truck driver before retiring and moving to Coolidge in 1990. He was an avid Arizona Diamondbacks and Oklahoma Sooners fan. He loved umpiring Coolidge Little League games.

Survivors include his companion, Ernestine E. Martinez; three sons, Lynn and Rance Ellis of Indianola, Okla., and Brent Ellis of Minnesota; five sisters, June Rowe of Victoria, Texas, Betty Clark of Chandler, Letha Fouse of Lexington, Okla., Pat Fouse of Arizona City and Connie Brading of Riverside, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah D. Ellis, and two sisters, Virginia Holland and Laqueta Brady.
