Charles Ray Clark

PHOENIX - Charles Ray Clark, 74, of Phoenix and formerly of Casa Grande, died Dec. 19, 2006.

Visitation and rosary were on Dec. 26 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 27 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.

Mr. Clark was born Dec. 10, 1932 in Chelsea, Okla. He joined the Navy in 1952 and was stationed in Long Beach, Calif., where he met his future wife, Olga, on a blind date. They were married in 1955. He later worked for Mountain Bell and US West. He retired after 30 years as a construction manager.

He was a member of Casa Grande Valley Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 41 in Phoenix. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed going to Rocky Point, Sonora, Mexico, and watching his grandchildren play in the ocean. He loved making big dinners and was known for his cooking, especially menudo.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Arollo, Jane Burson and Kimberly Tapia; a brother, Capt. Donald Clark (USN-Ret.); a sister, Nell Fay Steely; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
