Orson S. Dempsey, 65, of Prescott Valley, born Feb. 2, 1939, in Miami, Ariz., died Saturday, April 24, 2004, in Prescott, Ariz.

A celebration of Orson's life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Fort Whipple V.A. Medical Center Chapel, Prescott, Ariz., with Chaplain Jack Unangst officiating.

Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 6.

Private cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Orson S. Dempsey, age 65, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Fort Whipple V.A. Medical Center, Hospice Ward, in Prescott. He was born Feb. 2, 1939, in Miami, Ariz., the son of Patrick and Cora (Speer)
Dempsey.

Orson served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1964. Orson met and later married the love of his life, Mary Lou Guthrie, on Nov. 24, 1978.

Orson was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and was proud of
his service to his country and his granddaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mary, of Prescott Valley, Ariz.,; his brothers, and sisters-in-law, Claude and Donna
of Page, Idaho, Patrick of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jack and Lee Ann of Phoenix, Ariz; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Dempsey of Phoenix, Ariz., Zetta and David Wallace of Phoenix, Ariz. and Blanche and Bill Hurley of Tonapah, Nev. Orson is also survived by his granddaughter, Trisha.

A Celebration of Orson's Life will be held Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m., with Chaplain Jack Unangst officiating. It will be held at the Fort Whipple V.A. Medical Center Chapel, with full military honors offered by
the American Legion Post #6, in Prescott.

A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
