Geraldine T. (Thomas) Lemond

Geraldine T. Lemond, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 28, 2005. She was born May 6, 1923, in Sharon, Tenn., the middle child of the late Ellis B. Thomas of Texas and the late Vera (Worrell) Thomas of
Tennessee.

Geraldine graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, Tenn., in May
of 1942. After graduation, she moved to Chicago, Ill., where she started modeling for the Vera Jane Studio. During this time, Geraldine
tied for first honors in three different bathing beauty contests and was Runner-Up in the "Miss Chicago" pageant.

She moved to Phoenix in 1943 with her at one time husband, the late Luther C. (Jack Sr.) Lemond, Jr. She continued to do some modeling for the Diamonds and Goldwater's Department stores for a short time while being a homemaker.

She moved to Prescott in 2002 to be closer to family.

Some of Geraldine's favorite activities included reading, playing cards and shopping, and she loved to entertain in her home. She is most proud of her children and grandchildren.

Geraldine is survived by her son, Jack Jr. (Tracy) of Prescott; her daughter, Janet of Phoenix; a brother, Sam (Juanita) Thomas of Kenton, Tenn.; a sister, Mary (Sam) Buda of Omaha, Neb.; two granddaughters, Ericka of Dewey, Katie of Prescott and two great grandsons, Joshua
and Tanner both of Dewey, Ariz.

A celebration of Geraldine's life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Carlton and Cortez streets in Prescott, Ariz.

Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory, in Prescott Valley.

Memorials may go to Calvary Chapel, 2313 E. Highway 69, Prescott, Az.,
86301.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements.
