Kenzie G. Early, 84 of Cibecue, died May 10, 2006.

Kenzie was born Jan. 10, 1922 in Cibecue to Scott and Amelia Early.

Kenzie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier. He served in battle during the war.

He married Ida Lupe April 2, 1948 in Miami, AZ, where Kenzie worked in the copper mine. They had four children: four sons and two daughters. The family moved back to Cibecue and he started working as a facility maintenance man at the day school. He was a loyal employee and a hard worker. He retired from the day-school after 30 years of service.

Kenzie loved sports, especially basketball. He was an expert horseman and was a boxer in the Navy. Kenzie loved his family and friends. They were everything to him. They will miss him.

Kenzie is survived by his wife, Ida Kenzie; his four children, Anna Goseyun, Tracy Early, Judy Dehose, and Duane Early; two sisters, Noddy Tortice and Viola Pinal, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A wake was held at the Early home Sunday, May 14. Funeral services were held Monday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at the Cibecue Catholic Church.
