Richard Charles (Dick) Pope

ARIZONA CITY - Richard Charles "Dick" Pope, 76, died Jan. 4, 2007 in Arizona City.

A celebration of life will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at Arizona City Moose Lodge.

Mr. Pope was born June 21, 1930 in Meridian, Idaho, and was a son of Alva and Emma Pope. He served in the Korean War and settled in Alaska, starting a successful tank and pipeline company. He retired and moved to Arizona in the mid-1980s, developing Quail Run RV Park in Arizona City. After its sale, he stayed active in real estate development in Arizona and Idaho. In his spare time he loved to travel and recently bought a home in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Survivors include a daughter, Patty Brandt of Snohomish, Wash.; two sons, Rick Pope of Wasilla, Alaska, and Steve Pope of Anchorage; two sisters, Pat Cook of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Edna Duffield of Arnold, Calif.; three brothers, Fred Pope of Soldotna, Alaska, Tom Pope of Boise, Idaho, and Jim Pope of Soldotna; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann, Grace and Helen.
