The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, February 21, 2007 Ida Y. Hing, died February 15, 2007, at Las Fuentes Care Center In Prescott. Ida was born July 3, 1909 in Auburn, California, daughter of Charles and Lena (Lee) Yue. She married David Hing and together ran a grocery business in Yuma, Arizona until they moved to Prescott and 1954 to open a grocery store on White Spar Road. They owned and operated the Food Basket until their retirement. Ida was a member of the First Congregational Church of Prescott and very active in the Women's Fellowship at the church. She also sang with the Sweet Adeline's, traveled extensively with the Airstream travel trailer group for many years, was a member of the Monday Club, the Westerners and Daughters of the Nile. Ida is survived by her brother, Harry Yue; son-in-law, John; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ida's husband, David, and daughter, Susan preceded her in death. A memorial service will be at the First Congressional church on W. Gurley St. in Prescott on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment will be Tuesday. February 27 at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix. The family requests that donations be made to First Congregational Church, Women's Fellowship or a charity of your choice. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family in the arrangements.
