Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona February 21, 1980 Arnold Jensen, 78, Wickenburg, passed away Feb. 11, 1980, at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. Born in Tipton, Iowa, June 24, 1901, his family moved when he was a child to West Branch, Iowa. In 1943 he and a partner, Rollo Crew, of West Branch, owned and operated a hotel and restaurant until 1941. In 1943 he and a partner, Rollo Crew, of West Branch, owned and operated a feed store until 1959 when Mr. Jensen and his wife, Naomi, moved to Wickenburg. In 1960 he bought the Capri Motel in Wickenburg and sold it in 1962. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Iowa City, Ia., from 1944 to 1959. He was also a charter member of the Elks Lodge in Wickenburg. Surviving are his wife, Naomi; two brothers, Harvey Jensen of La Grange, Ill, and Everett Jensen of Fairfax, Ca.; three sisters, Hertha Atkinson, of Mesa, Az. Eleanor Nopar of Huntington Park, Ca., Ina Gutherie of Waukesha, Wisc. His parents and one sister predeceased him. There are 14 nieces and nephews. Mr. Jensen is to be cremated and his ashes are to be scattered over the Hassayampa. |
