Esther Blanche Jones, 82, of Salome died February 5 in Wickenburg.

Mrs. Jones was born January 17, 1909 in Riverside, Calif. She had lived in Arizona for the past 56 years.

She was a member and a Sunday school teacher for the First Baptist Church of Salome.

Mrs. Jones was a retired teacher and had taught in Salome and Yuma for many years. She was a graduate UCLA.

She owned and taught music for Jones Music in California.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Jones of Salome; two daughters, Marilynn Jones and Adrienne Jones, both of Salome; a brother, Wesley E. Holtz of Denver; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were conducted with Rev. Alan Nash officiating. Private burial was at the Desert Lawn Cemetery in Yuma.

Esther B. Jones, 82, of Salome died February 5 in Wickenburg.

Mrs. Jones was born January 17, 1909 in Riverside, California. She had lived in Arizona for the past 56 years.

Mrs. Jones was a retired school teacher who taught in Yuma schools from the early 1930s to the early 1940s. She also taught in Salome from 1946-47.

Since moving to Salome she was a member of the First Baptist Church and she taught Sunday school until her death.

The Jones Family owned and operated Jones Music in Yuma from 1959-1972. While living in Yuma she was a member of the First Baptist Church in that city and was active in the Bracero Missionary Program.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Leonard, of Salome; two daughters, Marilyn Jones and Adrienne Rose, both of Salome; a brother, Wesley F. Holtz of Denver; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at the Desert Lawn Cemetery in Salome, with burial following. The Rev. Alan Nash will officiate.
