Dorothy V. (Berglund) Lindman

DOROTHY V. LINDMAN, 86 PHOENIX, Ariz. -

Dorothy V. Lindman, 86, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Jan. 4, 2007. Dorothy was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Duluth, Minn., and grew up in Rockford, where she met and married her lifetime love, Ernest F. Lindman.

Dorothy was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to entertain friends and family alike. Her door was always open and something wonderful was always in the oven.

Dorothy was a member of Baltic Swedish Lodge in Rockford, served on Altar Guild at Salem Lutheran Church in Rockford and La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church in Scottsdale. Dorothy was past president of the Jenny Lind Auxiliary of Swedish American Hospital in Rockford and managed the Jenny Lind Tea Room. Dorothy was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a Swedish American Hospital volunteer and had been named volunteer of the year at Salem Lutheran.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Hanna Berglund; her brother, Carl; sister, Bernice; as well as her husband of 60 years, Ernest F. Lindman; and her son, David Paul Lindman.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Dawn Seagren of Scottsdale, Debra Lindman-Leckner of Pukekohe, New Zealand; son-in-law, Mark Leckner; and grandchildren, Kristin Seagren, Zane Leckner and Olivia Leckner.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley. Arrangements by Messinger Mortuary.
