Jean (Morantz) Myerson

Jean Myerson born on March 1, 1915, in Denver Colorado, long time Tucson resident. Passed away June 9, 2010, following a lengthy illness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Myerson; her parents, Celia and Abraham Morantz; and her brothers, Louis and Nathan Morantz. She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Myerson and Vicki Myerson Alpert (Jerry); grandchildren, Audrey Capin, Melissa Capin, Lillian Swenor (Michael), Alex Goldberg, Bruce Goldberg (Sonia); and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Samantha, Joshua, Alec, Ryan, Jack, Kendall, Avery, Hanna and Ellie. She is also survived by her sister, Blanche Gazin; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Shuken. Jean and Joe moved to Tucson in 1940 and were very active members of the community. Among her numerous activities,

Jean was a life member of Brandeis National Committee, Hadassah and City of Hope. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wants to thank Patti, Holly, Christy, Paula, Sherry, Peggy, Lorena, and Chris for their compassion and loving care as well as the staff of TMC Hospice, especially Nicole and Beth, for their excellent care and support.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2010 at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle. Remembrances can be in the form of donations to Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Rd, Tucson, 85716 or to the TMC Hospice, c/o the TMC Foundation, 5301 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ 85712.
