Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 29, 2005 Lavinia E. Yargus, age 74, of Bagdad, joined her Heavenly Father on Nov. 24, 2005. Lavinia was born Sept. 19, 1931 in Elm Springs, S.D., to Ralph Cozine and Marrietta Coffield Cozine. She grew up in South Dakota and married Wayne Yargus from Fairfield, Iowa, on Dec. 14, 1950. Lavinia and Wayne lived in Ames, Iowa, until 1957. They lived in Ft. Duchesne, Utah, until 1961, in Fort Apache, Ariz., until 1963 and in Fort Washaki, Wyo., until 1966, while Wayne worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. They lived near Mystic, S.D., for 22 years and owned and operated the Amoco Service Station and Iron Horse Motel in Hill City, S.D. They started a small business in Yuma in 1984, started another small business in Fairfield, Iowa, in 1987, moved to Skull Valley in 1999 and lived in the Bagdad area for the past five years. Lavinia is survived by her husband, Wayne Yargus of Bagdad; her sons, Michael of Port Orchard, Wash., Kendall of Yuma, and Martin of Bagdad; her sister, Elma Cozine of Custer, S.D. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Parker of Sacramento, Calif., and by her brother, Lawrence Cozine of Chamberlain. S.D. She has 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Viewing and visitation will be at 3 p.m., on Nov. 30, 2005, and services will be held at 4 p.m., at the Hilltop Community Church in Bagdad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. The Hampton Funeral Home of Prescott assisted the family with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors. |
