| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, August 22, 2007 E. W. (Sonny) Morrison III died Sept. 22, 2007, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Oct. 25, 1940, in Waco, Texas to Edward W. Morrison Jr. and Dorothy L. (Surber) Morrison. Sonny was raised in Denton, Texas, where he graduated from the University of North Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps until his Honorable Discharge in 1962. He worked at the Morrison Milling Company for 33 years serving a number of jobs including President. After he retired, he became a Mr. Mom to his daughter, Heather; moved to Prescott in 1995 to raise Texas Longhorns; made many friends and made Prescott his home. His hobbies were too many to list but they included raising Texas Longhorns, riding horses and motorcycles, driving fast cars, and living life to its fullest. Sonny loved life and he liked to live it in the fast lane. He was a rancher at heart but a very proud Marine from the start. He had a heart as big as "Texas" and was always willing to help a friend. He may be gone from this earth but he will never be forgotten. "Happy Trails to you, Sonny!" Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and his furry companion Tiffy. He is survived by his daughter, Heather E. Morrison-King, and her husband, Matthew L. King; three grandchildren, Noah Morrison King, Joshua Lynn King and Hope Elizabeth King; his best friend, Marge Chevraux and an extended family of friends at Murphy's, especially Rumeena and Montana. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the local Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jani, his staff, and to "Sonny's Angels" - caregivers Marge, Carey, Lena and Liz. Services were Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Arrangements were entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
