Gordon Grady Guffee, age 83, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2005.
He was born in Abilene, Texas, on July 28, 1922.

During World War II, Gordon was a section leader for the 3807th Quarter-
master Truck Company in the U.S. Army.

He was married to Frances Simmans with whom he had two daughters, Colleen Gay and Carol.

Gordon led an adventurous life. Much of the 1950s and 1960s, he
worked in Greece, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and the Marshall Islands.

Gordon married Marilyn Clevenger in 1974. They met on a hike while
they were both living in the Phoenix area. They moved to Chino Valley in
1985 and then to Prescott Valley in 1991.

Gordon enjoyed contributing to the community by volunteering for the VA, representing his church by cooking Salvation Army dinners, and
repairing bicycles for a charitable church project.

He also greatly enjoyed fishing, camping, growing tomatoes, and singing
in the church choir. He enjoyed experimenting with recipes and sharing
the results with others.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his two daughters, two grandchildren, two great-grand-children, three stepsons and their wives, and six step-grandchildren.

We will remember him for his good-natured teasing, his strong opinions, his generosity to the community, and his love.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at 11 a.m., at
the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, at 7763 East Long Look Drive, in Prescott
Valley.

Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
