Frances Hubbs Hill, born Sept. 4, 1921, and Jack Ray Hill born Feb. 5, 1918, have joined each other in the home of the Lord. Frances died on Sept. 26, 2005, followed by her beloved husband, Jack, on Nov. 10, 2005.

Frances was born in Los Angeles, to Ralph P. Hubbs and Pauline (Briggs) Hubbs. She served in the Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate during WWII, and later graduated from USC and became a Licensed Physical Therapist. She worked in this profession until retiring in 1981, in Des Moines, Iowa. She taught and enjoyed machine embroidery. She was involved with the PTA and Girl Scouts and became a Life Member of the American Legion.

Jack was born in Lincoln, Neb., to Martha (Peterson) Hill and Arthur Hill. He served in the U.S. Air Corps during WWII as a radar and radio operator on a B-24 bomber in the Galapagos Islands. He then worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company until retirement in 1980. His hobbies included photography and model building, and he also became a Life Member of the American Legion.

Jack and Frances lived in Pico Rivera, Calif., for 15 years, then transferred to Des Moines, Iowa, and lived in Urbandale until moving to Arizona in 1996. While in Urbandale, they were very involved with their daughters, especially their sport activities. Frances would be in the stands cheering them on and giving advice to the officials or telling them of their incorrect calls. Jack was always there with his camera in hand snapping shots and providing the school yearbook staff with photos of all the sports. After retirement, they enjoyed RVing and wintered in Texas from 1984 to 1995.

They are survived by their two daughters, Jackie (Brian) Hogue of Carroll, Iowa, and Barbara (Joseph) Ercolani of Prescott Valley. They also are survived by six grandchildren, Kevin, Kelli and Kyle Cuthbert of New Jersey and Brenda, Debbie and Angie Hogue of Iowa; and three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Lukas and Tyler all of New Jersey.

A special thank you to the staff at Hospice Family Care, where their daughter, Barbara, is an employee. "It has been very difficult being a family member needing our services and my sister and I can't thank you enough for the support we were given and will continue to receive."

We'd also like to thank the Wakelin-Bradshaw staff for their care of our parents and assisting us with those difficult tasks following a loved one's passing.

A private memorial service will be held in Iowa at a later date.

The family requests all donations go to Hospice Family Care, Inc., 100 E. Sheldon St., Suite 100, Prescott, Az., 86301, in memory of their parents.
