ROYSTER, Andrew Preston M.D., beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2010 in Tucson from a sudden cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Araxe and their two children, Gabriel and Owen; his father, George Royster and wife, Marcy of Avon, Connecticut; his mother, Diane Docherty and husband, Tom of Stuart, Florida; his sister, Whitney Royster of Jackson, Wyoming; his brother, Joseph Royster of Lake Bluff, Illinois and many friends and extended family members. He was born on May 10, 1968 in Connecticut. Dr. Royster was a partner at Radiology, Ltd. in Tucson, where he had worked since moving to Tucson from Boston in 2000. He was a board-certified radiologist who specialized in musculoskeletal radiology, having earned his undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Royster, known as "Andrew" to his family and friends, was a playful father who loved wrestling with his children and could almost always be found playing outside with a large group of delighted kids at parties and family gatherings. He enjoyed skiing, traveling, running with his golden retriever, and working on automobiles. He was also an avid hockey player and fan, motorcycle enthusiast, and animal-lover. A Celebration of Andrew's life will take place on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Tohono Chul Park. A fund is being established at St. Lawrence University, Andrew's alma mater, in his memory.
