Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, August 16, 2008 Carol Boone, 76, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Prescott. She was born in Wild Horse, Okla., to George Wickham and Kathryn Cope Wickham. Mrs. Boone was in medical school when she discovered her true life’s calling – to be a homemaker and loving mother to five children. Mrs. Boone faithfully supported her husband as he received his medical degree, practiced family medicine, and went on to pursue his Ph.D in physics. Dr. Boone was the head of the radiation oncology department at the University of Arizona Medical School. Mrs. Boone was devoted to God, her church and her family. She was known for her compassionate and sensitive heart, her faithfulness, her kindness to others, her marvelous cooking, and a smile that spread joy to those around her. Survivors include her children, George Boone of Tucson, Dr. Max Boone of Athens, Ala., Linda Hunt of Prescott, Emily Boone of Prescott and David Boone of Chino Valley; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Westside Christian Church, 5860 Williamson Valley Road in Prescott. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice Family Care, 100 E. Sheldon, Prescott, Ariz., 86301. Information provided by survivors. |
