Franklin E. Hodges, Sr.
(November 15, 1938 - September 25, 2010)

Franklin E. “Gene” Hodges, 71, of Silver Lake Estates, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010, at his home. He was born November 15, 1938, in Gallup, NM, to Al and Rose (Wood) Hodges.

He was raised and attended school in Sanders. He entered the US Navy at age 17, serving from December 1955 to 1959 as a Sonar technician. He married Hazel Green on April 19, 1975 in Las Vegas. He worked as a millwright, building power plants all over the country. He retired in 2001. He came to the Show Low in 1975. He was a member of the Show Low VFW Post 9907, and American Legion Post 76. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of the home; three daughters, Irene Watson and husband Allen of Show Low, Cindy Adams of Lakeside and Rose Brown and husband Ronny of Show Low; a son, Frank Hodges, Jr. and wife Nelly of Show Low; sisters Sharon Boyd and husband Mel and Sheila Ogea and husband Bob, all of Mesa; a brother, Jimmy Bates and wife Loretta of California; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. and Rose Hodges; a brother, Alfred Hodges II; sister, Cynthia Roach and a great grandson, Jarin Berryman.

Services will be held at a later date.

Franklin E. "Gene" Hodges, 71, of Silver Lake Estates died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Gallup, N.M., to Al and Rose (Wood) Hodges.
