Frank Kurtz Scharf, 66, of Prescott, Ariz., born Feb. 4, 1941 in Cumberland, Md., passed away Aug. 26, 2008.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at the Hampton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Prescott Kiwanis Foundation, P.O. Box 1020, Prescott, AZ 86302.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home.

Frank Kurtz Scharf Jr., 67, of Prescott, died Aug. 26, 2008, at his home in Prescott. He was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Cumberland, Md., to Frank Kurtz Scharf Sr. and Ethel Paulino (Reynolds) Scharf.

Frank served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He was a Communication Information Officer, mostly stationed in Japan.

Frank received a B.A. Degree in marketing from the University of Central Florida. He was responsible for the expansion and franchising of the Red Lobster Restaurant chain, which started in Florida. He was in marketing most of his life. Frank also worked with the Florida Citrus Council developing creative advertising.

Here in Prescott, Frank had worked at the Communications Center for Rowle Simmons. Frank was an active member of the Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Scharf, in 2005.

Frank is survived by his wife, Phyllis F. Beers-Scharf; two sons, Brett A. of West Orange, N.J., and Scott L. of Chicago, Ill.

A Memorial service and Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Frank’s memory to the Prescott Kiwanis Foundation, P.O. Box 1020, Prescott, Az., 86302.
