Anna Shanahan

Anna Shanahan was born April 28, 1921, in New York, N.Y., and died at the age of 87 on Aug. 19, 2008, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was also a former resident of Prescott, Ariz.

She married John Shanahan in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1999.
She is survived by her three children and families, Carol Shanahan Laird and husband Lenny of Poplar Bluff; John Shanahan and wife Nina of Miami, Fla.; and Gerald Shanahan of Brentwood, N.Y.; her grandson Collin Laird of Poplar Bluff; one brother, John Muller and wife Lois of New York; sister-in-law Ada McNamara of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

Thanks to the care from the staff at the Manor Nursing Home, her last days were comfortable.

Anna was born and lived most of her life in New York and now will return home. A memorial service will take place at a later date in New York.

Cotrell Funeral Service of Poplar Bluff is in charge of the arrangements.
