Wilbur E. Prescott

Wilbur E. Prescott, age 93, passed away Aug. 28, 2008 in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Leon, Kan., to Arthur and Delia (McCaffree)Prescott.

Wilbur attended Grossmont High School in San Diego, Calif., and also went to Pasadena Academy.

Wilbur worked in the Shipbuilding industry as a loftsman foreman and where his future wife Freda had a mishap during a launching of a ship with the scaffolding and Wilbur was the first person she saw after the mishap when she regained consciousness. He worked at National Steel and Shipbuilding before his retirement.

He moved from California to Chino Valley, Ariz., after retirement. Here he continued his hobbies and interests which included, building his own home and airplane. He also, helped design and build Grace Baptist Church in Chino Valley.

Mr. Prescott is survived by his four children; Clinton, Sharilyn, Cary, Angelica; and brother Dewane. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Commemoration services in honor of Wilbur will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Sept. 4, 2008, at The First Church of The Nazarene, 2110 Willow Creek Road, in Prescott, with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the services at the church. Burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery following the luncheon.
