Elena Blake (Blake) Guinn

CHANDLER - Elena Blake Guinn, 76, of Chandler and formerly of Casa Grande, died Jan. 13, 2007 after having leukemia for a short time.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James the Apostle Episcopal Church, 975 E. Warner Road in Tempe.

Mrs. Guinn was born Sept. 22, 1930 in Maria Elena, Chile, to Elena Davis and Garnet G. Blake. She attended the University of Arizona and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. At the UA she met Hugh N. Guinn, the love of her life, and they were married in 1950. They lived in Casa Grande for 39 years and he practiced dentistry. She was very active in her church as altar guild chairman and enjoyed sewing, needlework and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Terri Hanger and Betsy Reader; two sons, Dr. James A. and Randall B. Guinn; a brother, William Blake; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Blake.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Guinn's name to St. James Memorial Gardens.
